Principal of Least Animation

#webdev #theWeb #frontend

Most[1] websites should subscribe to the Principal of Least Animation: Information on the page[2] should be readily available and non-motive[3]. Animations should only be used to provide enhanced user experience and joyful interactions.

[1] Generative art and flashy demos need not subscribe.

[2] text, images, anything I am going to the site to read or look at.

[3] no fade ins while scrolling or parts of text changing while some text remains static as is popular on marketing sites where they want to emphasize their thing does three things like PLAY hard WORK hard FART hard or where the word in caps changes every 2 seconds.
